Sheila Hawkins, CFP AMP

Like many financial advisors, Sheila started her career working with a bank after university. Not happy with what the large corporate institutions had to offer clients at the time, Sheila started her own company. Her goal was to have time to work with clients to educate and guide them in a non-biased way, helping them make the right decisions about their financial situation without product pressure.

In 1999, her company naturally progressed to employing Canadian Mortgage Brokers, a good complement to the financial planning she was already doing. Enjoying unique situations and challenges, she has now included debt restructuring to her company’s list of services. Working with integrity and treating her clients with respect and dignity, regardless of their situation, have always been some of Sheila’s best attributes.

Sheila is an experienced presenter, offering various employers and organizations seminars and classes for their employees and members.

Sheila’s experience is supported by her continuing educational focus. She is a Certified Financial Planner and Life Agent with 22 years of experience in various planning environments. She is an Accredited Mortgage Professional with 20 years of experience. Sheila is also a Consumer Debt Counselor and an appointed Commissioner for Oaths in the Province of Alberta.

Taylor Zimmerman, CFP

Beginning in the industry at Abacus Wealth Management Ltd. in 2012 with his life and mutual fund licenses, Taylor went on to earn his CFP® in 2017. In 2020, while still holding his registration with Portfolio Strategies, Taylor launched his own brand: Zimmerman Capital, to serve his clients with improved resources and capability through streamlined relationships with other financial sector professionals. While able to meet all insurance and investment needs, Taylor specializes in efficiency and management of investments and their cash flow potential with the aim of creating a strong confidence level for his clients and their financial plans.

Taylor works through a holistic approach to financial planning: He wants to know more than just income and expenses. Knowing the goals and challenges of his clients means that he can properly plan for their future financial requirements. Information such as having (more) children, moving, transitioning into a new job or company, buying a new car, adopting a pet, health concerns in the family, or wishing to travel, all affect the strategy that is right for each client, both now and going forward. He aims to develop long-lasting, professional relationships with his clients to ensure proper care of their policies, investments and financial strategies so that they can focus better on what’s truly important; living out their best life, and securing their family’s future.

Taylor invests significant time staying on the leading edge of market information and options, while maintaining a foundation of knowledge through historical performances of products, so that he can cultivate and carry out the best possible strategy for each client. To better serve his current and future clients, Taylor plans on obtaining his CIM® designation; an advanced designation for investment advisors wishing to provide discretionary portfolio management for high net-worth or institutional clients.
